Love the Lorry Week has been a roaring success and we hope that everybody within the haulage industry have enjoyed their deserved week in the spotlight. This was the 5th annual Love the Lorry Week and SNAP sponsored the event to raise awareness and celebrate the important roles within the transport sector. Without key figures such as truck drivers, fleet operators and site managers, where would we get our everyday consumables?
The events went down a storm. We were fortunate to meet an array of UK and European, SNAP and non-SNAP drivers at each event, in Holyhead and at the Red Lion Truckstop. SNAP worked with the sites to put on free food and cold beers and we managed to chat to over 100 drivers. There was a lot of interest in the SNAP-Shot game, with one driver managing to land a massive score of 825, to take the season top spot and win himself a £20 Amazon Voucher.
Seven flags were successfully captured over the week, in our Capture the Flag competition. Each flag had been hidden at a Truck Park that accepts SNAP payments, somewhere throughout the UK. Clues were revealed on social media to the whereabouts of each flag and if a driver found a flag, they won themselves a prize.
Despite all the fun and success of the campaign, the HGV industry shouldn’t just be appreciated for one week. So, we will be looking to hold more driver events at parking locations throughout the next year. Keep your eyes on the SNAP social media channels for more information.
We hope that everybody else enjoyed Love the Lorry Week as much as we did, and we are already looking forward to getting involved again next year.
