SNAP proclaimed five Trucking Legends during May and rewarded them with bespoke care packages and a free week of SNAP parking - for all fleet vehicles on the road. Each of the Trucking Legends were nominated and chosen for going above and beyond during the Covid-19 pandemic.
SNAP thought the front-line efforts of the trucking community deserved recognition, so we asked members of the transport industry to nominate their ’Trucking Legends’ via SNAP’s Facebook page and website, explaining their reasons why. We received a large number of nominations - demonstrating the community spirit throughout the haulage sector.
Each nomination had cited fantastic reasons; from providing the correct PPE for their drivers, to wrapping trailers in tribute to the NHS and to keeping the nations supermarket shelves full. The theme of drivers and office staff putting in extra effort to meet high demand during this unusual time was easily evident.
In total, we sent over 100 care packages to the chosen fleets. These included one month’s credit to Audible, things to aid a good night’s sleep, cleansing wipes, energy bars, coffee and more.
These were the Trucking Legends that were nominated by the industry and chosen by SNAP:
Alan Ball, Transport Manager, at winners Ball Trucking says they were delighted to have been named as a Trucking Legend by SNAP and recognised for their continued efforts during the pandemic.
"Our drivers have been working around the clock to supply manufacturers and supermarkets across the country, as well as our NHS thank you trailers that we put together to support NHS heroes and key workers - which have been so well received by the community. It has been wonderful to be included and for our drivers to receive the care packages."
Mark Garner, SNAP’s Managing Director added: "We are pleased that the campaign has been well received by those in the haulage industry and we are delighted to be in a position where we can celebrate and recognise the industry’s hard work and efforts during this time."
SNAP are always looking to celebrate the hard work that goes on in the transport industry and the Trucking Legends campaign will almost definitely be making another appearance in the future.
